Stories, Myths, Ironies, and Other Songs: Conceived, Directed, Edited, and Produced by M. Auder. The exhibition revisits the variety of formats he explored that range between a video diary and documentary and involve appropriation of commercial TV broadcasts - introducing Michel Auder in all diverse roles he continues to play.
A Frenchman living in New York since 1969, Michel Auder was among the first artists working with video. His first extensive individual exhibition in Switzerland takes place at Kunsthalle Basel. Entitled Stories, Myths, Ironies, and Other Songs: Conceived, Directed, Edited, and Produced by M. Auder, the exhibition aims at presenting the entire span of Auder’s rich oeuvre, revisiting the variety of formats he explored that range between a video diary and documentary and involve appropriation of commercial TV broadcasts - introducing Michel Auder in all diverse roles he continues to play as the cameraman, director, editor and producer of his own film and video works since the late 1960s until today.
The exhibition is made possible by the generous support of
LUMA Foundation, Martin Hatebur.
The artist would like to thank Les Trois Rois.
