Flor Garduño

Fine Art is pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition, FLOR by Flor Garduño. This exhibition will feature platinum prints of the masterworks taken by Garduño who has enjoyed a widely acclaimed and highly successful career that has spanned over more than twenty years. Not only a brilliant photographer, Garduño is recognized as a master printer as this very special exhibition will attest. The stunning imagery captured through the lens of Flor Garduño is a true testament to all that is Latin America.

Born in Mexico City, she studied Visual Arts at Escuela Nacional de Artes Plastica (Universidad Nacional de Mexico) and between 1978-80 worked in the studios of Kati Horna and the late Manuel Alvarez Bravo. Under the sponsorship of the Institito Nacional Indigenista, she traveled with a team of photographers organized by the very talented late photographer, Mariana Yampolsky to photograph rural villages throughout Mexico in 1981-82. Individual exhibitions include: Witnesses of Time, The Americas Society 1993; The Field Museum, Chicago 1990; Museum Volkenkunde, Rotterdam 1989; Galeria Jose Clemente Orozco, Mexico 1982, as well as numerous collective exhibitions throughout the 1980s and 90s.

Her work is included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Biblioteque Nationale, Paris; and the Centro Cultural de Arte Contemporàneo, Mexico. Her work is also included extensively in private collections internationally. She has received numerous awards for her contributions to the field of fine art photography
