Questions of difference and identity, stasis and change are the foundation stones of Roni Horn's practice.
In her new exhibition at Xavier Hufkens, Roni Horn is manifesting this concern by means of an integrated installation with sculptures and 2 large photographs. 'Untitled (Yes) - I', the point of departure of the installation, is a crystal clear, glass block that continuously interacts with its environment. 'Her, Her, Her and Her', consists of 2 mosaics of black & white photographs with images of a locker room in Reykjavik. The cool aesthetics of the architecture and the anonymous signs on the changing cabins contrast sharply with the intimacy of the fragmentary parts of a body photographed in a transitory place.

On the second floor of the gallery, Stephen Wilks will be showing new sculptures and photographs.
Wilks is telling contemporary, urban fairy tales by means of everyday objects that are transformed into magical characters. His new exhibition will include a refrigerator that tells stories from Siberia about magical rivers and family feuds; a table top procession of several hundred characters moulded from plastic water bottles and the image of a television set that is devoured by an army of moths, ...
