Where light creates space. The exhibition challenge artists to work in situ on several locations, the idea is to visually relate the research, story or trouvaille to the space. The visitor will be able to see part of the working process.
Wo Meine Sonne Scheint is an exhibition held during the Rotterdam Art Week from 5-9 February 2014. During this exhibition artists are challenged to work in situ. The goal is to focus on the artistic working process of the artists and create a unique experience for the visitor.
The participating artists can start working in the exhibition space a few weeks before the opening, and develop their work on location. During this start-up phase –in which studio and exhibition space merge together—the artists can playfully experiment in the space. They are not bound to any requirements and are free to decide how to approach the project. This can range from research of an architectural aspect, reacting to the atmosphere or focus on a small detail. In the end the idea is to visually relate the research, story or trouvaille to the space. By working in situ the visitor will be able to see part of the working process.
