RAW Art Fair is an independent Art Fair with a festival flair, created in 2012 by Bob Smit. Beyond it's independent character, encouraging young and
uprising artists and galleries, RAW Art Fair has succeeded since it's inception in engaging fairly good sales while accommodating visitors with
pleasurable facilities. Such opportunity to combine both commercial and non-commercial endeavours beyond the standard art fair tradition constitutes
altogether RAW Art Fair’s unique trade mark, inciting the art industry to widen it's reach and eventually it's sales.
RAW Art Fair’s first two editions were major successes, with the 2012 edition counting in 45 participant galleries and more than 9.500 visitors. The
second edition faced a rather more challenging production; yet RAW Art Fair 2013 managed to exhibit 62 of The Netherlands’ finest and youngest
galleries, attracting precisely 13.553 visitors in five days. For the third edition, RAW Art Fair will be showcasing 60 to 70 national and international art
galleries and project spaces, expecting up to 18.000 visitors.
From February 5 to February 9 2014, RAW Art Fair will be hosted in the spacious Cruise Terminal, overlooking the city of Rotterdam from the river’s south
side. Unlike previous years, RAW Art Fair 2014 will be coupled by a side program, orchestred by various art institutions in the city of Rotterdam in an
attempt to expand the festival flair beyond white walls.
In 2014, RAW Art Fair will be part of the Rotterdam Art Week along with other art fairs known as Art Rotterdam and Object Rotterdam. RAW is part of the Festival Calender of Rotterdam Festivals. Check at www.rotterdamfestivals.nl During this first week of February 2014, the whole city of Rotterdam will be pounding to the rhythm of Fine Art, becoming the heart and centre of a total contemporary art experience. Museums Boijmans van Beuningen but also art institutions such as Kunsthal and Tent will be presenting their new art shows especially for
the occasion. Art galleries around the city will similarly join in with unique exhibitions at their locations and in various pop-up galleries. Art Routes will
combine them together, taking visitors on an art exploration around the city of Rotterdam. Even hotels, restaurants and cafés will be taking part in the
Rotterdam Art Week with art on display in their lobbies and special offerings to visitors throughout this special week.
RAW Art Fair has a festival flair which gives visitors more than just Fine Arts. It gives them a total experience of Fine Arts, Fine Food, drinks, music and performances.
RAW Art Fair and the Rotterdam Art Week are happy to welcome you to experience the energy of the Arts.
