Deleuze Abécédaire is a filmed conversation lasting 7 ½ hours between the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze and his previous student and friend Claire Parnet recorded in 1988. For the first time, Deleuze dropped his persistent refusal to appear on television – on the condition that the material was only to be broadcast after his death. With irony, a wealth of charm and totally lacking in pathos, Deleuze answers to Parnet’s alphabetic selection of terms from A for animal to Z for Zigzag.
