The fair showcases work by leading artists, presented by a selected group of international galleries. The project aim is to present a more in depth view of individual artists work.
The-solo-project was set up by Paul Kusseneers Gallery in Antwerp and is supported by an array of established galleries. By addressing some key qualities, which are missing from the current international art agenda, the fair showcase's work by leading artists, presented by a carefully selected group of international galleries.
The-solo-project has quickly established itself as the foremost satellite fair in Basel, this Project is an attempt to overtake the already existing subsidiary fairs, and its aim is to offers an opportunity to enhance the contemporary art experience by presenting a more in depth view of individual artists work.
The fair consciously resembles more a series of considered gallery type shows in well constructed spaces, giving exhibited works more 'room to breathe', the artists more room to make a clear presentation and the visitors an environment in which the works can be considered as a body of work rather than on the basis of individual pieces. The galleries exhibiting will present works for sale but the emphasis of this fair will be a return to a scholarly based agenda.
