documentary
August
Sander:
Menschen
des
20.
Jahrhunderts,
to
be
presented
on
the
occasion
of
the
August
Sander
Cycle,
offers
a
comprehensive
look
on
the
artist’s
life
and
work.

Gallery

Bonn.
With
every
exhibition,
the
complete
work
of
People
of
the
20th
Century
is
assembled
in
a
year-‐round
cycle
presented
by
FEROZ
Gallery.
After
“The
Farmer”,
“The
Skilled
Tradesman”
and
“The
Woman”,
the
gallery
will
show
the
fourth
part
of
the
work,
“Classes
and
Professions”,
from
June
18th
to
August
29th.
“With
more
than
127
pictures,
this
is
not
only
one
of
the
biggest
groups
in
the
cycle,
but
also
the
one
that
better
illustrates
the
social
tensions
of
that
time”,
explains
Julian
Sander,
great-‐grandson
of
August
Sander
and
owner
of
FEROZ
Gallery.
In
18
subgroups,
the
diverse
character
of
German
society
in
the
early
20th
Century
is
represented
in
the
portraits
of
students,
scientists
and
actors,
as
well
as
soldiers,
Nazis
and
aristocrats.

event,
there
will
be
a
screening
of
the
documentary
movie
August
Sander
–
Menschen
des
20.
Jahrhunderts,
by
Reiner
Holzemer.
The
film
focuses
on
the
photographic
work
and
the
biography
of
August
Sander,
from
his
childhood
in
simple
circumstances
up
to
his
days
as
celebrated
young
photographer
in
Linz.
The
movie
screening
will
take
place
on
June
18th
at
7
pm.
Afterwards
visitors
are
invited
to
see
for
the
first
time
the
exhibition
“Classes
and
Professions”,
the
fourth
group
of
August
Sander’s
People
of
the
20th
Century.
