Paper Work. Floyer will show a new 30-part work from the series Ink On Paper and Sander will show a selection of 100 Staple Drawings.
Esther Schipper is pleased to present a two-person exhibition of Ceal Floyer and Karin Sander entitled Paper Work.
In one room, Floyer will show a new 30-part work from the series Ink On Paper that she began working on in 2001. In the other room, Sander will show a selection of 100 Staple Drawings, a series that she started in 1991. These will be mounted on the same walls that Sander knocked over in the gallery as part of her first solo exhibition at Esther Schipper in 2012.
Ceal Floyer lives and works in Berlin. Since her studies at Goldsmiths College, London, she has had solo exhibitions at (selection): Museion, Bozen (2014), Kabinett für Aktuelle Kunst, Bremerhaven (2013), Project Arts Centre, Dublin (2011), Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2009) and at The Kunst-Werke Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin (2009). In 2007, she was honored with the Nationalgalerie Prize for Young Art. Floyer is currently showing works in the following group exhibitions: Discover the New. Discover the Now, Royal Academy, London (through 17 August, 2014); Wall Works, Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin (through 31 August, 2014); and Infinite Jest, Schirm Kunsthalle, Frankfurt (through 7 September 2014).
Karin Sander lives and works in Berlin and Zurich. Since her studies of art and art history at the Kunstakademie Stuttgart and at the Independent Study/ Studio Program (ISP), Whitney Museum, New York, she has had solo exhibitions at (selection): Lehmbruckmuseum, Duisburg (2013), Kunsthalle Karlsruhe (2012), nbk, Berlin (2011), Kunstmuseum St. Gallen; (2010), Temporäre Kunsthalle, Berlin (2009) and at Staatsgalerie Stuttgart (2002). Sander will be showing works in the group exhibition Friendly Takoever, Marta Museum, Herford (28 June - 5 October). The artist holds a professorship at the ETH Zurich.
