"Close Surrounding" by JH Engstrom and "Shadows, Patterns, Pears" by the American artist Daniel Gordon
Foam is proud to present the work of the Swedish photographer JH Engstrom (1969) in the exhibition 'Close Surrounding'. He divides his time between Paris, France and his birthplace in Varmland, Sweden. The manoeuvring between the slow pace of country life and the stimulating energy of the city is essential in Engstrom's life. This is reflected in his pure and authentic photographs and in the exhibition at Foam. The exhibition includes unique, previously unseen collages. The books that Engstrom has published are another important element of the exhibition. "Shadows, Patterns, Pears" by the American artist Daniel Gordon (b. 1980 Boston, USA) features a selection of colorful portraits and still lifes, created and photographed between 2010 and 2014. Gordon was chosen as the winner of the Foam Paul Huf Award 2014. This prize is organised by Foam and awarded annually to a young, promising international photographer under 35.
