ArtInternational launches its second edition on Thursday, 25 September 2014,
welcoming local and international VIP visitors to the fair following a press conference
which featured presentations by the fair’s founders, directors, section curators and
architect. The fair, which this year features 76 galleries from 24 countries, will be
open to the public between Friday 26 and Sunday 28 September.
Drawing on Istanbul’s unique geographical location and thriving contemporary art
scene, ArtInternational brings together many of the world’s most exciting galleries
and offers unparalleled access to modern and contemporary art from Turkey,
Europe, the Middle East and beyond.
Sandy Angus, co-founder of ArtInternational says: “We are all delighted with the
progress we have made with ArtInternational since its launch a year ago, and believe
we are on track to build an art fair which represents the best of the art scene not only
in Turkey but for the region. The global positioning of Istanbul provides a unique
meeting point for the international collectors at the beginning of a new season in the
international art market. A great line up of galleries, a full and interesting VIP and a
varied talks programme all make for an intense and varied experience for our
visitors.”
Participant galleries have also contributed to By the Waterside, an outdoor sculpture
section located on the pier of Haliç Congress Center. The section will feature works
by celebrated artists including Benjamin Appel, Laurent Bolognini, Osman Dinç,
Karl Karner, Joan Miró, Keita Miyazaki, Steven Naifeh and Jaume Plensa

von Bodelschwingh. As well as screenings of select segments from the film,
ArtInternational will host the trio as they continue to shoot the film on-site at the Fair.

examine the roles of Foundations, Corporations and Individuals in building art
collections; discuss diverse topics such as urban planning in Istanbul, the
relationship between art and medicine, and the process of producing an artwork.

Saturday September 27 at 17:00.
ARTINTERNATIONAL’s organisers include Sandy Angus, co-founder of Art HK and
co-owner of India Art Fair, in collaboration with Fiera Milano Interteks, Turkey’s
