12-6pm, Siobhan Davies Dance presents: Table of Contents
Launching the programme on 14 and 15 October is Brooklyn-based dance artist and curator Isabel Lewis, who hosts a series of ‘occasions’ in partnership with Frieze Projects and Liverpool Biennial, which conjure the ancient Greek symposium where philosophising, drinking and the erotic were inseparable.
On 16 October New York-based artist Korakrit Arunanondchai, who is also a participant in Beware Wet Paint (24 Sep – 16 Nov 2014), presents an evening performance featuring boychild & A J Gvojic. On the Friday night, the focus is on music with a live event presented in collaboration with the ICA’s Associate Artists NTS Radio. Saturday sees Siobhan Davies Dance present the live movement installation Table of Contents.
From Wednesday 15 October, a series of panel discussions in the form of a ‘summit’, presented in collaboration with Rhizome, focuses on contemporary art and the politics of digital circulation, questioning how power and value accrue around art on the internet and how artists work within and against these conditions.
This live programme will occupy the vast first floor of The Old Selfridges Hotel, a cavernous industrial raw space, situated on Orchard Street directly above the Selfridges Food Hall. The project entrance is situated next to Selfridges Food Hall.
Please be aware that due to the nature of the event space and its location within a listed building, access to The Old Selfridges Hotel is restricted. The main space is only accessible by stairs with no direct access for wheelchair users or visitors with limited mobility.
