That's it! (+3 free minutes). A 'lecture opera' that contains innumerable images and texts that refer to theatre, dance, film and opera and simultaneously forms an intense exhibition visit.
In this new creation, Joëlle Tuerlinckx has embraced the challenge of translating her visual oeuvre to the stage. The audience witnesses her curious and critical exploration of the limits of this medium’s possibilities. Numerous images and texts from her archive, projections, audio recordings, objects, dance, performer-interpreters, a lecture and a live soundtrack by Christoph Fink in collaboration with Valentijn Goethals are all blended together. This ‘lecture opera’ contains innumerable images and texts that refer to theatre, dance, film and opera and simultaneously forms an intense exhibition visit that descends on you in your theatre seat.
Since 1980, Joëlle Tuerlinckx has been developing an oeuvre that has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. This creation resulted from a residency at STUK and is a collaboration with Tate Modern London and If I Can’t Dance Amsterdam, in which Tuerlinckx adapts the production to each specific space and context. The recordings of pre- vious productions are part of the tailor-made presentation at STUK.
