Canadian Centre for Architecture, Quebec City

Application

sintesi del comunicato stampa

The Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) announces curatorial opportunities beginning in fall 2015. The opportunities include a Curatorial Internship program and the Emerging Curator program. The Emerging Curator program offers the opportunity to propose and curate a project at the CCA related to contemporary debates in architecture, urban issues, landscape design, and cultural and social dynamics. Architects, journalists, designers, critics, historians, photographers, artists, and other scholars and professionals born on or after 1 January 1980, are eligible for this program, regardless of citizenship and place of residence. The CCA encourages a wide range of proposals for innovative curatorial models that advance the contemporary discourse on architecture. The CCA seeks proposals that use the curatorial project as a tool to foster ideas, to question relevant positions, to introduce new research themes, and to critique current modalities, with the ultimate goal to advance new thinking for architecture and the built environment. Particular attention will be given to projects that intend to locate the discourse of architecture within a broader context across disciplines and practices. The selected candidate will become acquainted with the CCA's institutional knowledge and vision, explore the institution's resources and the collection holdings, and apply a specific curatorial direction to develop the proposed project. The CCA will provide guidance towards the project's realization in accordance with the curatorial direction of the institution. The Curatorial Internship program is designed to share the CCA's expertise with students and young professionals in architecture, the design disciplines, arts, humanities, and cultural studies who are interested in exploring editorial and curatorial fields in architecture. Students and young professionals born on or after 1 January 1985 are eligible regardless of citizenship and place of residence. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to become acquainted with the CCA's curatorial approach-in particular its collection, exhibitions, editorial projects, and research programs-through a six- to nine-month internship beginning fall 2015. Deadline: 27 February 2015.
