Elliott Sharp and the London Sinfonietta

In a collaboration between Christian Marclay and the London Sinfonietta, some of the world's most renowned contemporary musicians have been invited to stage performances, including new compositions and live improvisation sessions. This Sunday the London Sinfonietta will be performing a newly commissioned piece by Elliott Sharp. 'Christian Marclay may always be counted on to provide intriguing frameworks upon which one may manifest sonic actions. My initial reaction to the concept of this project was to hear a voice announcing 'last call' and the imminent end of festivities, a voice filtered and refracted by the omnipresent glass of the exhibition. The music of 'Glass Call' reflects fuzzy perceptions and temporal sequences that are unpredictably coherent (or not). The borders between intention and ambience are porous, not clearly delineated, and durations may likewise be stretched or compressed away from the norm Elliott Sharp, 2015.
