Jonathan Parsons, Katie Pratt and Jane Harris
Born in 1970, Jonathan Parsons arrived at Goldsmith just after the Hirst
era, graduating in 1992. Saatchi bought the first piece he ever exhibited
in London in 1993 - a small format black and white Union Jack. He
commissioned another larger one and in 1994 he purchased the work in
"SENSATION" catalogue, "Map Dissection Carcass".
At Kontainer, Parsons will show "From Nature", a green painting that was
previously exhibited in "System + Structure" at James Hockey Gallery and
toured to Stanley Picker and the Lowry.
Katie Pratt, the 2002 Jerwood Prize winner, is currently showing in "New
British Painting" at John Hansard. At Kontainer Gallery she will show
"Finisterre", a green painting that will be shown in "Landscape
Confection" at Wexner Center for the Arts in January 2005. Artists in
"Landscape Confection": Pia Fries, Laura Owens, Michael Raedecker, David
Korty.
Jane Harris' green painting is "Flip", to be shown in 2005 in her first
museum show at Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, CT, curated by Richard
Klein.
