Jocelyn Robert is a multidisciplinary artist from the city of Quebec working in video, installation, sound, writing and computer art. Although Jocelyn Robert works in a variety of media, it is his sound work that will be at the center of his presentation in the Art and Technology Lecture Series.

Jocelyn Robert is a multidisciplinary artist from the city of Quebec working in video, installation, sound, writing and computer art. His work has been seen in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Chile and in many European countries. His installation L'Invention des Animaux received the First Award, New Image category, at the Berlin Transmediale in 2002. He is also the founder of the audio-art center Avatar, in Quebec. Although Jocelyn Robert works in a variety of media, it is his sound work that will be at the center of his presentation in the Art and Technology Lecture Series. Robert has published a dozen solo cds over the years, and each of them is the result of a new approach to sound art, be it in terms of concept, process or technology.
Described as "consistently the best public lecture series in the visual arts" by the San Francisco Chronicle, Art Institute public lectures have expanded four-fold in the past year, and are newly free to the public.
