One night special event intertwining contemporary art and theatre
The Dreamhouse lets you experience MOCA in an entire new way. It is a unique, one-night-only special event intertwining contemporary art and theatre, using MOCA as a performance space. Theatre scenes, spoken word, lighting and sound will be staged within MOCA's exhibitions, immersing partygoers in 'dream' experiences, both provocative and playful, as you move from space to space. Dobama Theatre actors move through galleries and staircases dancing, singing, fighting, speaking and engaging guests. Take a freigh elevator ride to a surreal interrogation from The Pillowman. Move through a gallery to experience photography and watch a fantastical audition from Venus in Fur. And move through the MOCA ground floor turned dreamscape and witness the delusion of a couple of hipsters who have taken over the world in therevolution. The Dreamhouse draws from plays as diverse as Hamlet, Venus in Fur, The Pillowman, and more. From the surreal to the absurd, through nightmares and fantasies, this is a night you won't want to miss. In addition to the performances and exhibits, there will be live DJ music, dancing, a cash bar, light hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction on the first level of the museum. April 11, 2015 - 8:00pm.
