Zurich Contemporary Art Weekend
Founded on April 1, 2001, the association The Zurich Galleries is currently representing 64 of the most renowned galleries in the field of contemporary art in the city of Zurich. Zurich is a vital cultural centre, not least thanks to its many galleries. Working on a high professional level, they have enjoyed international regard for years. They assist and promote Swiss and international artists, working in partnerships that often last for decades. This continuous and close cooperation with the artists qualifies gallerists as reliable and valued advisors for collectors, institutions and their curators. The main occasion in the association's yearly calendar is the season's opening in the last full week of August. The first event throughout Europe after the summer break, it offers the opportunity to attend the openings of 64 exhibitions over three days. The variety of artistic positions presented by the Zurich galleries enables everyone interested in the arts to get an excellent overview of the current art scene. At the end of October, a gallery weekend offers another opportunity to discover the Zurich galleries at leisure. Our website presents the current exhibition program of the associated galleries with all opening dates and a listing of the artists represented by each gallery. A city map with the locations of all 64 galleries helps you find your way around. The map as well as the current programs can be downloaded and printed.
