The New Embarrassment

Migros Museum, Zurich

Migros Museum fur Gegenwartskunst at UP STATE. This collaborative event series, from Zurich's contemporary art exhibition locations, examines the topics of publicness, togetherness and mediation, in reference to the phenomenon of the embarrassing. Am I in the right place here? For whom is the first row of seats intended? How does one ask the first question? These situations, and others like them, structure the spectrum of experiences within public event programs. The participating organizations want to test, maintain and enhance their capacity for dilemma and disgrace with unfamiliar audiences and special guests, by leaving their traditional locations to realize talks, performances and workshops in an exchange with the other institutions.
