We Would Be Floating Away from the Dirty Past. A new installation titled as the 4th edition of the annual art commission
We Would Be Floating Away from the Dirty Past. A new installation titled "We Would Be Floating Away from the Dirty Past" for Haus der Kunst's Middle Hall as the fourth edition of the annual art commission. Laure Prouvost (b. 1978; lives and works in London) creates visually sumptuous installations and films. Enticing her audience into often unusual viewing situations, Prouvost weaves a complex web comprising film, objects, sculpture, drawing, painting, and architectural, sometimes stage-like settings. Each medium brings a divergent layer and dimension to Prouvost's manner of storytelling, which unsettles linearity as well as apparent dividing lines between truth and fiction in order to reassemble into a vibrant patchwork of a new reality and meaning. Laure Prouvost's reality is a fast world of contradictory images, impressions, and sounds that accumulate to evoke a rush of feelings and endearing humour.
