Of a total of 49 exhibiting galleries from 20 countries, 17 are new to the fair. The countries Canada and Turkey will be represented for the first time. The growing prominence of East European galleries is also noticeable. This year, we can welcome participants from Lithuania, Slovakia and Poland. The jury attaches great importance to the fact that a large number of the artists, selected to show at the LISTE, will be exhibiting in Switzerland for the first time, some even celebrating an international premiere outside their home country.

LISTE 04 - The Young Art Fair: In reward of the constantly rejuvenation the most
successful fair for current young art
Again this year, one-third of the galleries presented at the LISTE will be in
Basel for the first time. Since the fair was founded nine years ago, the aim has
been to promote international young art and young galleries. In the meantime,
the LISTE is reputed worldwide to be the fair for new discoveries.
One of the most important features of the LISTE is its continuous rejuvenation.
It allows us to present new, unknown artists every year, which makes the fair
attractive for international collectors, art institutions, experts and art
lovers. Only new galleries which opened less than five years ago, showing
artists in their programme who are predominantly under 40, are admitted.
Participation is limited to three to four years. The high quality of the
participating galleries, guaranteed due to strict selection criteria and focus
on newest art tendencies, has helped the LISTE become the most prominent fair
for young art.

the approximately 220 exhibiting artists will be giving their debut in
Switzerland in June.
Special guest at this year's LISTE will be the Kunsthaus Glarus, an institution
set apart from Swiss art centres, which has earned a reputation by showing
strong statements of contemporary art.
Additionally this year, the LISTE has its own electronic newsletter, which can
be ordered on our homepage www.liste.ch, with regular updates on the fair.
