Whitstable Biennale is East Kent's first large scale event to celebrate artists' film, video and temporary interventions in arts centres, non-gallery spaces and exterior sites. Developed, coordinated and promoted by Canterbury City Council, it features new works and reinterpretations from thirty eight artists from the UK and abroad. The Biennale also extends along the coast from Whitstable with projects in Herne Bay, Reculver Country Park and Margate.

The East Kent coast, easily accessible from London and Northern Europe, offers a unique location for the event. Whitstable Biennale presents an exciting view of contemporary international practice which aims to have a significant impact on a local, national and international level.

Whitstable Biennale is managed by Debra McGee, Senior Cultural Development Officer, Cultural Services Department, Canterbury City Council.
