SUBVERSIVE
Art @ Large is proud to present an exhibition of new color photographs and
movie posters by Rinaldo Hopf.
Featured, will be a selection of Erotic Portraits from the International Art
and Queer Scenes, out of his latest book, SUBVERSIV, with an Introduction by
Thomas Sokolowski of The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, and text by Gay
Cartoonist, Ralf Koenig. (Konkursbuch 2004)
This exhibition will also feature his scandalous series of male nudes drawn
on original movie posters using Gold Leaf & Ink. This lyrical blend of
golden men as a subject for defacing actual promotional graphics, lends
itself to his own personal graffiti/glorification. Thus set against
authentic elements of pop culture, creates a new collectibility in and of
itself.
Grand Prize Winner of the 2004 Neo-Erotique juried exhibition, Art @ Large,
New York, (curated by: Grady T. Turner). Mr. Hopf lives & works in Berlin,
and has exhibited widely in Europe. His last solo exhibition in the USA was,
Golden Queers, Wessel + O´Connor Gallery, New York City, 1998.
