Scenes of Circumference
Gallery 825/LAAA is pleased to announce the exhibition of the work of Pamela
Mower-Conner. The exhibition features a group of painted three-dimensional
spheres entirely covered with a continuous parade of detailed, figurative
imagery. Figures and forms flow continuously around the shapes, encouraging
the viewer to explore the various views. In an intricate tapestry of sky and
land and water, each character pursues his or her own mysterious ritual.
Mower-Conner¹s personal imagery, derived from a stream-of-consciousness
technique, reveals an array of worlds, from a vintage circus, to a Caribbean
queen, from flying baroque statues to creatures of the undersea.
Image. Pamela Mower-Conner, 'Wooden Saints', acrylic on 12" diameter globe,
2004.
