Andlab presents three Los Angeles based artists endlessly reliving the past through bittersweet and fragmented narratives. Falling somewhere between having nostalgic childhood dreams and the denial of adulthood obligations, these works fixate on and fetishize perpetual adolescence.

Daniel Peacock - produced as acrylic on board, these pieces have a sense of message, yet are almost also without meaning. Little critters that may be half animal, joyous icons of the puppy and or random furry beast. An ongoing series of signs that give respect to personal hygiene and any little scrap in a moment when a bit of meaning is found. A bunch of fuzzy critters that would love to sprawl and be loved, but are known to bite when approached.

Ronald J. Llanos - Observation and obsession mix with reality and fantasy, resulting in a fanciful play between what the artist truly witnesses and what he envisions. In "pastry shop", derelict urban characters co-exist in a non-sequential form of narrative. His series of "swimmers and bathers" were partly inspired by Rembrandt's etchings of nude bathers and his fascination with voluptuous women. Daumier, Goya and Grosz have all served as an inspiration for both these slice of life images and fantastical dwellings.

Andrew Foster - Andrew Foster's new series of work presents paintings of women on the verge of womanhood. Using the seductive and charming imagery derived from makeup and fragrance advertisements in women's magazines, these paintings are sexy and soft, yet gently discomforting and humorous. With obscured identities and a lack of narrative intention, the women in the paintings become unconsciously generic while preoccupied with personal aesthetics and sexual presentation.

Andlab shows work by contemporary artists in its gallery. It acts as a forum for the presentation of ideas through its range of lectures, concerts, and discussions. ANDLAB, in its mission to foster curiosity and knowledge, offers a variety of educational opportunities and creative developments through its selection of art and design classes and projects.
