In association with the Mary Boone Gallery in New York who will also mount a solo show of the artists’s work this Spring, we are pleased to announce the first one person exhibition of paintings by Inka Essenhigh outside of North America. Touted by the New York press as one of paintings most exciting new stars (featured in Vanity Fair, Ingrid Sischy describes her as one of a group of ‘late 90’s hotties’), Essenhigh’s high gloss ‘Pop Surrealist’ paintings morph in and out of abstraction and reference a wide range of work from Japanese Ukiyo-e prints through to Tiepolo, Francis Bacon and Matthew Barney.
