Timeline is a two part project involving 21 art works created especially for the
occasion. From various origins and backgrounds, the artists were asked to construct
a narrative made of 6 A4-size pages. This method aimed firstly to reconsider the
blank space defined by this standard format omnipresent in our everyday life and
explore its potentialities. The narratives, while keeping their own structure,
become intertwined until they form a complex network of stories. Each project is
like a game with random or implicit rules that require to be discovered or invented
by the viewer. The first part took place on the Internet (www.time-line.tv) from
October 22 2004 to April 22 2005. Over 6 months, each piece has been released in a
fragmented way (one episode per page and per month). These works that had been
developed in time will be now set up in space. Timeline vol. 2 offers the
opportunity to have a global view on the project and to confront the different
works.
