CGAC presents a show devoted to the work of the photographer Vari Carames (Ferrol, Corunna, 1953), within the framework of its exhibition programming that grants photography, as a discipline, an increasingly decisive position, in keeping with the current artistic scene, both on a national and an international scale.
CGAC presents a show devoted to the work of the
photographer Vari Caramés (Ferrol, Corunna, 1953), within
the framework of its exhibition programming that grants
photography, as a discipline, an increasingly decisive position,
in keeping with the current artistic scene, both on a national
and an international scale.
In this retrospective exhibition, the most complete of those
held to date, we have assembled a selection of over a
hundred photographs that review his entire artistic trajectory.
To enter the CGAC exhibition halls is to be plunged into a
world of black and white images - some of which are
well-known, while others are on display for the first time -
splashed by the colour of his most recent works.
Vari Caramés transforms his personal way of looking into a
magical suggestive universe. In his poetical snapshots, which
in a simple and tender fashion surround their beholders with
an air of complicity, the ordinary acquires new nuances and
time remains in suspension.
