Film and video festival. Flixfest presents the work of talented young film and video makers at the start of their careers. A programme of animation screenings, art installations and VJing presentations has been curated by a collective of young artists, the Flix Film Project, to showcase the range and quality of work being produced in this area.
Flixfest 2006
Flixfest, a free two day film and video festival, will showcase and celebrate the work of young Southwark filmmakers at the South London Gallery on 21 and 22 January 2006.
Flixfest presents the work of talented young film and video makers at the start of their careers. A programme of animation screenings, art installations and VJing presentations has been curated by a collective of young artists, the Flix Film Project, to showcase the range and quality of work being produced in this area.
Flix 36 is a round the clock challenge to aspiring filmmakers to make a film in 36 hours from 8am on 14 January. The results will be shown as part of FLIXFEST 2006 with a first prize of £150 and two runners up prizes of £50 awarded at the closing event of the festival.

Childern's matinee screenings: Labyrinth, 1986 (U), Dir. Jim Henderson
A young woman wishes her baby brother would be taken away by goblins. Her wish comes true and now she must rescue him by going through the forbidding passages of the labyrinth to reach the goblin castle of the mighty wizard king.
All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

An opportunity to view short films made by members of the Flix Film Project who have curated Flixfest 2006 in collobaration with the SLG.
