Spirito dello Scambio (Trading Spirit) in Rotterdam offers a close look into part of the artistic scene in Italy, especially the one that has evolved in the city of Milan over the past few years. The artists Roberto Ago, Stefan Bombaci, Gianni Caravaggio, Andrea Crociani, Alessandro Dal Pont, Marco Ferraris, Satoshi Hirose and Markus Keibel, although coming from different countries. Rotterdam artist group and Microbo Erotico in Milan have been involved in an exchange-project between young artists from both Rotterdam and Milan.
Spirito dello Scambio (Trading Spirit) in Rotterdam offers a close
look into part of the artistic scene in Italy, especially the one that
has evolved in the city of Milan over the past few years. The artists
Roberto Ago, Stefan Bombaci, Gianni Caravaggio, Andrea Crociani,
Alessandro Dal Pont, Marco Ferraris, Satoshi Hirose and Markus Keibel,
although coming from different countries.
Rotterdam artist group and Microbo Erotico in Milan have been involved
in an exchange-project between young artists from both Rotterdam and
Milan. TENT. is a department of the municipal Centre for Visual Arts
Rotterdam (CBK) and supports the exchange with offering the space and
its organisation.
The event offers a real opportunity to experience the contemporary
phenomenon widely known as "crossing", through the direct exchange and
dialogue between young artists from different countries. The
exhibition
work itself indicates the "crossing" character or mode of the art
which is typical of present artist's generation: the used means are
multiple and heterogeneous. They range from installation to
photography and video.
Microbo Erotico
Microbo Erotico is a flexible group of artists, formed for dialogue
and work. Its activities aim to find theoretical and practical
confrontation, in order to create criteria or ideas which are able to
cultivate different
artistic mentalities.
Microbo Erotico is a vital micro-situation which
grows because it generates profound artistic stimulation. In its
nonprofit activities, Microbo Erotico of Milan has given many
exhibitions organized by artist groups. These exhibitions have
provided young Milan artists with spaces for presentation and have
activated the Milanese art scene by making it open to every artist in
the city. They have attached positive significance not only to the
activities of individual artists but also to those of artist groups.
