New works by John Baldessari will be on view at The Reykjavik Art Museum -

Baldessari visited Iceland for the first time last year and his new pieces can
been seen as a response to that experience.
The exhibition, titled "While something is happening here, something else is
happening there: Works 1965-2001", will also house older works by the
artist. An exhibition catalogue is to be published along with the show,
which is curated by the Icelandic artist and writer Thorvaldur Thorsteinsson.
Additionally, the internationally active Gallery i8 in Reykjavik, in
cooperation with The Reykjavik Art Museum, will publish a new artist's book
by Baldessari, "Brown and Green and Other Parables", which will include images
and new parables by the artist, based on Icelandic sayings. A hardcover version
will be available at the opening date and a deluxe version some weeks later.
