These are visual images which are beyond words. There is no representation, no expression, no metaphor, no symbolism, but the presentation of soul instead of flesh, and act rather than definition.

Shanghart gallery will show some artistis group show in July, inculding Xiang Liqing, Wei Guanqing, Shen Fan etc..

Xiang Liqing, born in 1973, Xiang has already presented tens of modern art exhibitions and he is the most eye-catching modern Chinese artist under 35 years old. Mr. Xiang has made a remarkable achievement in the kingdom of modern Chinese arts and become a shining star that no one can deny.

The name Xiang Liqing was firstly made known to people as a photographic artist, and his great ability enables him to do things far more than that. His series works have proved his talent by showing a unique interpretation to images. Mr. Xiang Liqing, young yet skilled, will prove his creativeness by constant search in the realm of arts.

Wei Guangqing, born in 1963, graduated from China Academy of Art in 1985, Mr. Wei Guangqing is greatly skilled in academism painting. As an artist with profound knowledge in Chinese traditional culture, Mr. Wei does not seek source materials from real life.

Instead he borrows ideas from woodcut style from Chinese traditional literature "Jin Ping Mei", "The West Chamber" and "Master Zhu's Family Teachings" and creates decent culture works with the technique of oil painting, therefore imposes the meaning and value of social criticism in modern cultural context. His style significantly differs from the POP art, and some scholars refer to his style as cultural POP.

Shen Fan, born in 1952, Mr. Shen Fan starts his works in the realm of abstract drawings. Someone says that the art of Mr. Shen's works diminishes due to the humanity in it. Mr. Shen explains that his intention is to let one part of the body ¨C hands, directly engage in the picture.

These are visual images which are beyond words. There is no representation, no expression, no metaphor, no symbolism, but the presentation of soul instead of flesh, and act rather than definition.

Shen is an easygoing man, but his paintings are persistent, unwilling to compromise. It is the persistence that present a unique strength in his art.
