The most exciting artistic video and film production in Spain today is done more by young filmmakers than by visual artists. More so than the artists, the filmmakers fathom the possibilities of the audiovisual language; and without losing sight of aesthetic requirements, they play with narrative and stylistic resources for the filmic imagery and its forms, and develop new formats that flirt with irony and meta-language. This is what we in Spain call "videocreation."
