The Divine Darkness. Recent works
On November, 18th the galerie davide gallo has the pleasure to present
the first European solo show of the artist Panagiotis Tsgaris.
For this occasion Panos Tsagaris will present in Berlin a performance of
the duration of two hours, in which the artist will represent a rite
of purification for him and the attending audience.
The aesthetical research of Panos Tsgaris is based on the best tradition
of the hellenic culture, a tradition which is sensible to the
fascination of mistery and to the alchemical relations which are created
between the artist and the audience that take advantage of the artworks.
The research area of Panos Tsagaris is without doubts a conceptual one.
The artwork doesn't consist in the representing object itself, but in
the mental operation that builds its base.
In the show “The Divine Darkness" there are only a few fragments that
are characterizable: photos, some objects, oils and essences, white
roses.
The sense of such operation, as suggested by the artist himself, is to
rediscover the sacred sense of gestures and of the simple moments of
daily
life.
The artist suggests to the public to live with extremely awareness every
single moment and to let emerge from the chaos, just in the moment, the
divine sense of everything.
This kind of research is common to all the artistic production of Panos
Tsagaris; in one of his previous works the artist just ducumentated the
simpliest
gesture in life: a kiss. In this simplicity we find the significance of
the artistic operation, bearer of new values.
The conceptual vein of Panos Tsgaris is enriched by a more poetical
content, signing a step forward in relation to this glorious tradition.
