The gesture and the mimic are the basis of every communication. Before we say our first word about comprehensible speech our bodies speak to each other whether it be a monolog or a dialog. Beginning with Body Art-Body Language continuing through a discussion with role models and role playing, the exhibition assembled 7 artistic positions for a stimulating dialog with this theme.

The gesture and the mimic are the basis of every communication. Before we
say our first word about comprehensible speech our bodies speak to each other whether it be a monolog or a dialog.
These body codes of our behavior to each other and to ourselves are learned
from an early age and are embedded by our cultural surroundings and societal parameters. Beginning with Body Art-Body Language continuing through a discussion with role models and role playing (gestures, rituals, persecution, self-dramatization) the exhibition Bodytalk assembled seven artistic positions for a stimulating dialog with this theme.
Daniela Comani: Sexual stereotypes Role conduct – a humorous analysis
involving Gender switching and role reversal in daily life situations of Man- Woman.
Heidi Harsieber: Self-reflection about age, sickness, pain and passing in
opposition to the desire for youth, beauty, and sexual vitality.
Matthias Herrmann: Sexual identity, homosexuality, transgendering,
self-observation and the play with fictive personalities.
Corinne Rausch: Ordinary scenes and conceptions of social perfection and
beauty versus failure, degeneracy, and derailment.
Nina Rike Springer: Group dynamics and peer pressure influence and direct
the attitudes and movements of the
individual triggered by certain spatial guidelines.
Anja Manfredi: Society and individuality in the reciprocal group dynamical
process. Self-dramatization as a method of expression of social mechanics and behaviors.
Claudua Rohrauer: The body as question mark, slang comic strips and
adolescents’ questions as cartoon.
