Revelation Arts & Media is pleased to announce the inaugural British Creative Exchange event, a
series of programmes taking place across London,
Britain plays a major role in nurturing and discovering creative talent; the British Creative Exchange
celebrates this collaborative culture and provides a platform for the public, industry and talent to reflect on
the diversity of international and cultural talent sustaining UK creative scene.
With debates, Q&A sessions, films and a visual art exhibition, the British Creative Exchange aims to mix
serious discussion with the championing of young and established talent.
The inaugural 2007 Patron for the event is acclaimed Director of Photography, Cesar Charlone (City of God,
The Constant Gardener), who arrives in London from Brazil to highlight the issues of profiling overseas
talent and to discuss his work and personal cultural contribution.
Over a period of five days Tate Modern, BAFTA, The Whitechapel Gallery, Cineworld Haymarket, and The
Empire Studios will be holding events directly developed as part of the British Creative Exchange theme. A
number of established and emerging Creatives will be working together in order to communicate the issues
of attracting international and cultural talent and recognising existing contributions.
Talks at the Tate Modern and the Whitechapel Gallery will form a platform of public debate to explore
the changing face of UK art mediums, international talent and a global audience, whilst exploring the
contribution of international & cultural talent and creativity. Panelists include Sue Hayes, Film London's
Film Commissioner; Edward Morgan, BBC Executive Producer - The Culture Show; Nathalie Schwarz,
Director of Channel 4 Radio; John Weich, Art Review Editorial Chief; Paul Bennun, Director of Strategy,
Somethin' Else; Nikola Delvendhl, Director - Adjaye Associates and Jane Boardman; CEO TalkPR.
Renowned for capturing the beauty of scenery, whilst adding fresh realism to the film-making industry
since the turn of the millennium, Cesar Charlone will take part in an exclusive Q&A session hosted by
Adrian Wootton, CEO of Film London, at London's BAFTA.
The British Creative Exchange is also proud to present an exhibition at The Empire Studios Gallery,
Vyner Street. 17TH March sees an exhibition celebrating the international talent within UK creative
industries; in architecture, photography, set design, graphic design, dance, animation, technology,
music, and film. As part of the opening of this event BBC Worldwide DJ Gilles Peterson will provide a
private DJ set and introduce the up and coming talent of NYC jazz vocalistJose' James.
With organisations involved ranging fromThe National Portrait Gallery, Channel 4, Sony, Adjaye
Associates Architects, BBC, The Place Dance Studio,and MTVNE, the event will explore the
creative tensions and dualities presented by the development of individual creativity within boundaries of
industry.
The British Creative Exchange events close with a retrospective of Cesar Charlone feature films and
previously unseen works at the Cineworld Haymarket. Four short films by some of the most promising
international independent filmmakers in the UK will also be screened at this event.
Launched in 2006, Revelation Arts & Media is an independent agency that promotes emerging
international cultural talent across a range of contemporary creative fields and engages in the
commissioning of creative events, talks and exhibitions for diverse audiences and emerging cultural &
international practitioners.
