During the summer months Sparwasser will be closed for the public and the SW staff will be occupied with head quarter activities. Lisa Strombeck installs a remake of her "Resting place", especially to be seen from the street outside Sparwasser HQ, during the summer of 2001.

Originally "Resting place" was made as a shed in a larger room, where you were invited to lie down on a madras, and take a rest together with sleeping animals.
This summer you can pass by outside Sparwasser HQ, and get reminded of the fact, that among all those things you always have to do... just once in a while; take your time to do nothing but rest!
In the gallery, three dogs and one cat are sleeping on each one video monitor. These animals are of that strange kind called pets. A kind of animal that people buy, and raise to fit into society. Beings that belong some place between nature and culture.
The Swedish artist Lisa Strömbeck has already been introduced to the Berlin art scene with an artist talk in SW during the summer 2000 + participation in the group show "We want to believe".

She was in 99 a guest student at the Babelsberg Film School and she was in the program of the Berliner Art Forum 1999 and 2000 at the booth of gallery Tommy Lund.
Sparwasser HQ is an uncommercial artist/curator run space. Sparwasser is a collaboration between the artists/curators Lise Nellemmann, Henrikke Nielsen, Solvej H. Ovesen, Tom Jeske - and many guest artists/curators, to whom we are very grateful. The focus is on ideas in progress within the framework of artistic research. Sparwasser was in its initial phase, June 2000, a six months project, producing exhibitions, social events and media based art. We will now, one year later, introduce our 3rd half year program.
