comunicato stampa

About Eneas' Michael Jackson paintings

Well, perhaps art has become like a parrot, it imitates and then repeats itself so much that it has become like any other mass product. After all it is as easy to say that art doesn' t exit as it is to say that it does.

I mean, if Duchamp could say by identifying a urinal as an art piece, that anything could be art, by the same token one could say that nothing is. A painting on a wall can be just an object to decorate the wall, hide the trash and reflect the light.

Danny Moynihan (Adapted from my novel "Boogie-woogie")

Born in 1976, Eneas lives and works in New York, South Hampton and London. Suggested readings to accompany the show: "Glamorama", Bret Easton Ellis; "Slaves of New York", Tama Janowitz; "Boogie-Woogie", Danny Moynihan. Suggested Music: "Non Stop Erotic Cabaret", Soft Cell; "Obsession", Animation; "Slave to the Rythm", Grace Jones; "B-Sides", The Fall; "Pulling Rabbits out of the Hat", Sparks.
Suggested Movies: "Wall Street", Oliver Stone; "Arena Brains", Robert Longo; "American Psycho", Mary Harron.
