Ateliers - The artist and the places of creation in the Kandinsky Library collections
The workshop has left a particularly deep mark in the Musée d'art moderne's collections, as well as numerous traces in the corpus of documents held by the Kandinsky Library. This documentation highlights the direction taken by the exhibition, which features each of the three major formats workshops have used over the years that have outline a typology: the traditional artists' "factory", the "post-studio" where the workshop leaves its walls and is dematerialised and last of all, the contemporary artist's platform.

Pierre Klossowski
Philosopher, theologian, writer and translator, Pierre Klossowski was the
creator of a substantial body of fiction. He also made pencil drawings,
but black and white was for him insufficiently articulate, and this was no
more than an accompaniment to his writing. Then his hand found a
different, visual eloquence, filling great sheets of paper with colour and
creating the images that would henceforth serve the artist Pierre
Klossowski as his sole means of expression.
