Borderstories

About 25 minutes of soft sampling and talking by sonia armaniaco "amran" - _text as collection and elaboration of notes, reports thoughts, dreams, associations and sensibilities, mainly gathered during travels/pilgrimages, mixed with fragments of oneiric expe - _music as composition of samples, assembled with various digital recording and loops, sampled in different contexts through travelling - - the geography is a border, a crossing point, one of the many-

WHO:
Sonia Armaniaco, Chachi Jones, Frank Andrick, Michael Pulley & others TBA presenting noise, samples, poetry & performance.

WHAT:
Sonia Armaniaco, a storyteller and computer-sampling composer, is from Genoa, Italy. Her work oscillates between influenced traditions and the latest wave sounds, linking and mixing ancient stories, with dreams and archetypes, through assemblages and mixages techniques, pilgrimaging in a patchworked transparent world of sound, memory, thought, perception, where everything is essential and has relationship with everything else.
Chachi Jones is a Sacramento area innovator, creator and manipulator of unique sounds using a wide variety of instruments from the Speak and Spell toy, to theremin, to an assortment of Roland drum machines and Apple lap tops. He currently has 3 self produced albums, CJ, Mode Switch and his newest the self titled Chachi Jones that has been a mainstay in the KDVS 90.3 FM, the UCD college radio station, top 10.
Frank Andrick is the author of Soluna, a collection of poetry that John Mead has called, "Sound Trancendence. Experimental Mythology! Frank is from Lockford, California and is the co founder of the AMP Press and hosts the San Franciso based spoken word/poetry program The Pomo Literati.
Michael Pulley, Sacramento area journalist and poet, who continulally chases and alters form and content to create pieces of surreal punk, dreamwoven fragements and explorations that become waterfalls and dirt.
