ART Santa Fe 2001 is pleased to announce its fourth international contemporary and modern art fair, to be held July
12-15 at Sweeney Convention Center in downtown Santa Fe.
The emergence of Santa Fe as a major center for contemporary art is confirmed by the fact that ART Santa Fe will
move into convention center format for its fourth incarnation this July 12-15. ART Santa Fe 2001 will take place at
Sweeney Convention Center in downtown Santa Fe and will draw top contemporary and modern galleries from all
over the globe. Charlotte Jackson is director of this juried event.
Collectors from all over will gather for the fair's Vernissage, scheduled for 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 12.
This elegant opening event will feature a champagne buffet and entertainment, and will provide a chance for serious
collectors to preview the fair's exhibits. The Vernissage will be preceded by a press walk-through. Press
representatives with an ART Santa Fe 2001 press pass will receive complimentary tickets to the Vernissage.
Gallerists and collectors alike are finding ART Santa Fe 2001 just the excuse they need to visit Santa Fe at its most
beautiful time of year. And after a day of viewing or exhibiting the best in contemporary art, visitors will be able to
relax with an evening of world-class music at the Santa Fe Opera's open air theater (sunset and stars form part of the
backdrop), or can attend the opening of the Santa Fe Chamber Music, or can take advantage of many other offerings
in the rich mix of cultural events that has made Santa Fe a favored tourist destination.

fact that Santa Fe has come of age as an important center for contemporary art.
As the nation's third largest art market, Santa Fe has long been a force in the American art scene. ART Santa Fe
2001 and the events surrounding it make it clear that Santa Fe has also become a significant player in the sophisticated
world of contemporary art.
