FIVE GREAT MUSEUMS, ONE EASY RIDE
The Queens Artlink is a courtesy, weekend shuttle service
to cultural attractions in Queens, operating 11:30 a.m.
to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Shuttles run every hour.
The first bus runs between The Museum of Modern Art on
Fifty-third Street (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues in
Manhattan) and P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center in Long
Island City, Queens. The second bus travels in a
circuit to P.S.1, the Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum,
Socrates Sculpture Park, and the American Museum of the
Moving Image.

Fifties Modern Architectural Walking Tours

The Museum of Modern Art presents a program of special
walking-tour lectures in conjunction with the exhibition
Mies in Berlin (on view through September 11, 2001).
The historical tours, led by MoMA lecturer Steven Zucker,
explore exceptional examples of modern architecture built
during the 1950s on the east side of Midtown Manhattan.
The designs of Gordon Bunshaft, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe,
Philip Johnson, Frank Lloyd Wright, and others are viewed
firsthand within the context of the postwar era.
