The Nearest. His art repeatedly analyses the position of the individual in contemporary society: the loss of individuality in the sheer mass of fellow citizens and the excessive need for security that leads to sophisticated surveillance measures. Recurring themes in his latest works are the lack of contact among people, isolation and displaced-ness in an increasingly complicated society structure. He projects video works, often in many layers, onto the dark surface of monochromatic canvases - in this way, image and projection are optically merged. His art has been described as video-fresco or time-based painting.
