Tomato- Special Retrospective
This year, the anthological section of Art Futura will explore the career of the artists and designers' collective Tomato. Tomato is one of the most fascinating examples of multidisciplinar creation in the nineties. Since 1991, the group has put the skills of its eight founding members (writers, musicians, graphic designers and artists) in service of a common project: the development of a new aesthetic, bold and audacious, for the 21st century.
During these ten years Tomato has made publicity for print and TV (Sony, Nike, Levis, MTV), record covers and videoclips, title credits for movies (Trainspotting, The Beach) and architecture and interior design. But they also create art instalations for museums and exhibitions, interactive pieces and Computer and Flash animation. Their most popular project is undoubtedly the renowned techno band Underworld. Members of Tomato will speak about their 10 years of work and present a one-hour program comprising the best of their audiovisual production in a special session on Friday, October 26th.
