Artists will work with selected industries in the region to create new work in response to that industry’s process or product.
A wide-ranging exhibit that brings together cutting-edge
contemporary art and the industrial heritage of New York
State’s Capital Region in a conceptual Call-and-Response
based on the premise that both art and industry involve
invention and problem-solving as a means of getting from
initial idea to final product.
Artists will work with selected
industries in the region to create new work in response to
that industry’s process or product.
Participating artists include: Elizabeth Dove, Jan Galligan,
Andrew Boardman, Susie and Betsy Brandt, Carl Scholz, Bill
Schuck, Kathleen Brandt, Brian St.Cyr, Jeff Hatfield, Mark
Dion, Lisa Austin, Richard Criddle, Roger Bisbing, Morgan
Puett, and Robin Arnold.
Participating industries include
Arcadia Supply, Aquatic Development Group, Empire
Exhibits and Displays, Lighting Research Center,
Marvin-Neitzel Corporation and the Watervliet Arsenal.

THE ARTS CENTER OF THE CAPITAL REGION is the
center for advancement and education of the arts in daily life,
promoting a richer community by providing opportunities for
broad participation in the making and personal experience of
the arts.
