Minimalen is an annual, independent short film event, covering new international releases and retrospectives, as well as premiere screenings of new Norwegian shorts. The festival has a low budget competition for national participants. International contributions are screened in panoramas, with an Audience Award of 500 Euro. The festival has around 2000 attendants, and 160 different shorts are screened during the five days.
