Radical eye. In this show, the artist presents a cross section of his b/w photographs from Berlin, New York, and Moscow, in which he unmasks social taboos with a relentlessly direct approach.
We are pleased to announce the radical eye exhibition by the
Berlin artist Miron Zownir (b. Karlsruhe, Germany, 1953) and would like to invite you to the opening reception at 7 pm on Thursday,
April 3, 2008.
In radical eye, Miron Zownir presents a cross section of his b/w
photographs from Berlin, New York, and Moscow, in which he unmasks
social taboos with a relentlessly direct approach.
‹He tests the
limits of reality and surpasses the limitations of traditional
photography, the separation of idealization on-show and strict
documentation in innumerable photo-sessions. The streets of the
neon-illuminated concrete-labyrinths are the highways of self-
production, the stage of the exhibitionists who are turned on by Zownir’s camera› (Nico Anfuso). Social outcasts of varying shades become distorted, symbolic documents of everyday madness: underground performers, radical artists, criminals, punks, junkies, self-assured prostitutes, or sexual outlaws.
Opening: 7 pm, Thursday, April 3, 2008
