In this exhibition, various photographers present their take on Amsterdam's Zuidas. Anuschka Blommers & Niels Schumm, Gerco de Ruijter, Marike Schuurman, Marjoleine Boonstra, Maarten van Schaik, Gabor Osz and others visualise the phenomenon in the widest sense. The show introduces a cross-section of the Zuidas Virtual Museum's Zoom Collection. A unique compilation of different perspectives on a construction site in development.

Amsterdam’s Zuidas, the international location of choice for business in the Dutch capital, has reserved a key place for art from the very start. Creativity and economic development are inextricably bound together - certainly in Amsterdam.
To ensure the quality of art and culture in the context of this project, the city of Amsterdam appointed an Art Supervisor in 2001, who in turn selected a programme committee to provide advice and assistance. This resulted in the foundation of Zuidas Virtual Museum (VMZ) in 2003.
The dimension of the Zuidas project, in time and space, and the changes that have occurred over the years have been so momentous that VMZ decided to commission artists to document the metamorphosis. Starting in 2001, between two and four photographers and artists were invited each year to express their view of the location and its inexorable transformation. A documentation of the area resulted, building into a large collection that reflects the latest developments in photography.
In 2006 it was decided to donate the entire collection - work already made and work to be made in the future - to Foam. Expanding the City marks the transfer of this collection.
The artists represented in the collection include:
