Tutto il territorio europeo,
Quarta edizione della notte dei musei europea. Ideata nel 2005 dal Ministero della Cultura e della Comunicazione francese, torna anche quest'anno la Notte dei Musei, un'originale proposta con la quale riscoprire, nella suggestiva atmosfera serale, le sedi museali e il loro patrimonio. L'Italia ha un ruolo importante nell'iniziativa, soprattutto con Roma e Firenze in prima fila.

The fourth edition of " The Night of Museums " will take off on Saturday 17 May 2008 in France and Europe.
" The Night of Museums " was created in 2005 by the French Ministry for Culture and Communication. In 2007, it brought an estimated 1.3 million visitors to 956 museums in France and 960 museums in 41 other European countries.
" The Night of Museums " was conceived to be a free for all social event. On this occasion, museums typically organise special attractions in order to appeal to new audiences, such as light shows, musical and theatrical performances, public readings, unique and ephemeral contemporay art shows in a nocturnal dialogue with the museums' permanent exhibitions.
For families and children, for lovers and friends, for the young and less young, for the passionate as well as for casual museum goers, " The Night of Museums " offers the unique chance to stroll from a musem to the next without looking at the watch.
On the eve of France’s presidency of the European Union, this event will again unite museums in the whole of the Greater Europe. For the first time it will welcome Scottish and Northern-Irish museums, as well as the museums of Copenhagen. Participation has become stronger in Belgium, Serbia and in the cities of Barcelona and Bucharest and is among the strongest in the Italian regions of Marche, Piedmont, Sardinia, Sicily, Tuscany, Veneto as well as Bratislava, Brno, Krakow, Warsaw, Zagreb and Riga in Eastern Europe.
" The Night of Museums " is sponsored by the Council of Europe and run in partnership with ICOM’s (International Council of Museums) International Museum Day.
